Finally introduced a better security feature called Factory Reset Protection with Android 5.0 Lollipop. Leading Android device manufacturers like Samsung, Google Pixel, LG, HTC, and Sony has started implementing this security feature to prevent your device and private data protected from unauthorized access if in case you lose your device. Enable Factory Reset Protection.
FRP is a great feature who doesn’t like this kind of feature, and I am sure everyone would love to have it. But for most of us, it is also a major issue if in case you forgot Google account credentials. I, therefore, always recommend users to disable FRP before hard resetting your phone. Enable Factory Reset Protection.
Step 1: Make sure that you already have Samsung account set up on your device otherwise you can sign up Samsung account.
Step 2: Now run Settings app. Tap down to find the System tab and tap Security.
Step 3: As I said earlier, If it is your first time then you’ll have to add Samsung Account first and then enable Reactivation lock. So tap on Remote Controls.
Step 4: Tap on Add Samsung account.
Step 5: Signup for an account if you don’t have it already.
Step 6: Enter account credentials. Write it down so that you don’t forget it later!
Step 7: Make sure you agree to all terms and conditions.
Step 8: Finally you can enable Activation Lock which is under Security >> Find My Mobile. Enable Factory Reset Protection.
Step 9: Now check the Reactivation lock prompt and tap OK as shown in the screenshot below. Enable Factory Reset Protection.
Use your Samsung account to prevent anyone from reactivating your device. Before you request a repair under warranty, the reactivation lock must be disabled. Make sure you create an unlock password that you can remember.
How to disable Factory Reset Protection
The procedure to disable FRP on Android is simple. Go to Settings >> System >> Security >> Find My Mobile >> Reactivation lock and uncheck it.
